GC/MS Sample Preparation

Samples should be 300-500 ppm (parts per million) and mass to volume calculations are fine

For solids

3-5 mg (0.003 g-0.005 g) dissolved in 10 mL of a solvent (not water), then transfer 1-2 mL into a GCMS vial

For non-volatile liquids

4 μL  (0.004mL) dissolved in 10 mL of a solvent (not water), then transfer 1-2 mL into a GCMS vial

(Headspace) For volatile liquids

Place 1-2 drops of product directly into a GCMS vial for immediate analysis. If immediate analysis is not available, store product in a sealed container until it can be analyzed.

Place your sample into the autosampler tray according to your number. Double check that it's correct.
